Generic Stendra (avanafil) works to relax the muscles and to increase blood flow to certain areas of the body, especially the penis. Generic Stendra is mainly used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence).
Take the Generic Stendra medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than prescribed or for longer periods of time than recommended. Follow the directions listed on your prescription label.
Your doctor could possibly change the dosing to ensure you are getting the best results possible. This medication can be taken with or without food.
Generic Stendra is generally taken as needed, approximately 30 minutes before sexual activity.
Seek emergency medical care if you suffer from any of the following signs of an allergic reaction to Generic Stendra: difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, lips, inner mouth including the tongue, throat or hives. If you experience dizziness or nausea during sexual activity or if you experience pain, numbness or tingling in your arms, chest, neck or jaw, stop and call your doctor as you could be experiencing a serious side effect of the medication.
Stop using Generic Stendra and call your doctor as soon as you can if you suffer any of the following serious side effects: ringing in your ears or rapid hearing loss; changes in vision or rapid vision loss; chest pain, very fast heartbeat or fluttering in the chest area; warmth, pain, swelling, or redness in one or both legs; swelling in the hands or feet or shortness of breath; lightheadedness; or penis erection that is painful or that lasts unusually long, as in 4 hours or longer.
Less serious Generic Stendra side effects may include: warmth or redness in your face, check or neck; headache, mild dizziness; cold symptoms such as a stuffed nose, sinus pain or sore throat; upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation or back pain.

Drinking alcohol can heighten certain side effects of Generic Stendra. Avoid drinking over three alcoholic beverages while you are taking Stendra.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may negatively interact with Stendra so it is best to avoid while taking the medication. Discuss the consumption of grapefruits with your doctor.
Avoid using other medications to treat impotence at the same time such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or vardenafil (Levitra) while you are taking Stendra.
This medication will not protect you from contracting HIV, AIDS or any other sexually transmitted diseases and only condom use will protect you from these diseases.
Speak to your doctor about all other medications you are taking currently, especially:isoniazid (for treating tuberculosis); nefazodone; rifabutin (Mycobutin), imatinib (Gleevec); rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane, conivaptan (Vaprisol), Rifater, Rifamate) or rifapentine (Priftin); antibiotics including clarithromycin (Biaxin), telithromycin (Ketek) erythromycin (EryPed, E.E.S., Erythrocin, Ery-Tab, Pediazole); miconazole (Oravig), posaconazole (Noxafil), antifungal medication such as itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral) or voriconazole (Vfend); antidepressants including nefazodone; a barbiturate such as phenobarbital (Solfoton); drugs to lower high blood pressure or to treat a prostate disorder, such as alfuzosin (Uroxatral), doxazosin (Cardura), terazosin (Hytrin), silodosin (Rapaflo), prazosin (Minipress), or tamsulosin (Flomax, Jalyn); heart or blood pressure medication including amlodipine (Caduet, Exforge, Norvasc, Lotrel, Tekamlo, Twynsta, Tribenzor, Amturnide), diltiazem (Cardizem, Cartia, Diltia, Dilacor, Diltzac, Taztia, Tiazac), enalapril (Vasotec), nicardipine (Cardene), nifedipine (Nifedical, Procardia), quinidine (Quin-G), verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan, Tarka), and others; HIV or AIDS medications such as atazanavir (Reyataz), delavirdine (Rescriptor), darunavir (Prezista), efavirenz (Sustiva), etravirine (Intelence), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), indinavir (Crixivan), nelfinavir (Viracept) nevirapine (Viramune), ritonavir (Norvir, Kaletra), or saquinavir (Invirase); seizure medications including phenytoin (Dilantin), carbamazepine (Tegretol, Carbatrol, Equetro), and others; or the hepatitis C medications including telaprevir (Incivek) or boceprevir (Victrelis).

Generic Stendra should be taken only as needed. Never take more than the recommended dose, and never more than once in 24 hours’ time.
The perfect temperature for storing Generic Stendra is between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C) away from extreme heat or moisture. Store this medication a safe distance away from children and pets.
